The Club
The blurb: Two platonic friends confront their true feelings for each other at a sex club of all places.
This gorgeous short film is so simple and yet so clever. It essentially gives us the essence of a good romantic comedy in six minutes and does it with only two locations. I’m in awe of how the director has created two major dramatic moments through only one prop – the masquerade masks. It’s not explicit; there’s a lot of emotional depth here and I’m kinda sad we don’t actually get to see this couple get it on. Even so, enjoy the superb acting and amazing chemistry of the two leads, one of whom – Leah Henoch – wrote the screenplay.
