This film isn’t explicit but it is a perfect contribution to Bright Desire’s collection of films about sex. This delightful short explores how sex in a relationship often has to negotiate the mundane and how it’s not always Hollywood-romance perfect. Discussions about consent can sometimes miss the subtlety of this kind of interaction; “maintenance sex” is a thing in long-term relationships where one partner might not be totally up for it but they’ll do their best and have fun.
Erotisse makes the whole thing charming and funny. French director Geneviève Albert apparently made the bold decision to base it on her own experience.
